2020 may be just days away but there’s still plenty of time to make good on your 2019 commitment to become healthier and set yourself up for New Year’s resolution success.
Making a positive impact on your health can start in as little as seven days.
That’s right. Something as simple as eating a balanced breakfast, drinking 8-12 glasses of water or loading up on fresh fruits and veggies each day can help increase your energy and reinforce healthy habits.
As a result, you’ll gain momentum and confidence that’ll make it easier to take your healthy journey well into 2020 and create that new year’s resolution success.
Trying to squeeze twelve weeks of weight-loss into a single week can leave you feeling discouraged, burned out and let’s be real, it could jeopardize your health.
But don’t throw in the towel because you don’t have to do it all at once.
Focus on taking the steps needed to reach your goal instead of focusing on the actual goal itself. Go for a 20-minute brisk walk after dinner, replace your second cup of coffee with a freshly pressed juice and take time to de-stress. So all of these healthy steps can eventually lead to your ultimate goal.
People who are consistent, day after day, see more results in a single week than those who constantly start, then restart in the same period of time.
It may be tempting to go all out for the last few days of the year but remember, small healthy changes that aren’t taken one at a time and maintained consistently, will make way for old, unhealthy habits to come back.
Although we’re close, the year isn’t over yet. With short-term, realistic goals and consistency, there’s still time to renew your motivation, create healthy habits and make some serious progress toward your goals before the year is over.
